Aberdeen Angus 2012 Ruby Anniversary Tour

Managed by:

Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society

Project Description

The project involves the publication of a “coffee table” style book which will celebrate the Aberdeen-Angus breed and its position in the history, heritage and landscape of Aberdeenshire.  The book will be published to coincide with the North East Scotland club’s Ruby Anniversary Tour, an event which will bring up to 200 breed enthusiasts to the area in October 2012.

Quote from Participating Organisation

Eddie Gillanders, Project Manager and Secretary, North East Aberdeen-Angus Club, said:

“LEADER funding has been a critical element of our project to promote the Aberdeen-Angus breed in the North-east to a large and influential audience of prospective buyers from throughout the UK and Ireland and also several overseas countries who will be attending the club's Ruby Anniversary tour of 16 North-east Aberdeen-Angus herds in October.

“Our aim is to produce a prestigious, high quality guide for the event which will highlight the North-east as a tourist destination and the huge range of high quality food produced in the area as well as the heritage of the Aberdeen-Angus breed.  The support of the LEADER programme has been vital in enabling us to progress this ambitious initiative."
