Options Appraisal of Boyndie Kirk
Managed by:
North East Scotland Preservation Trust
Project Description
The project will undertake an options appraisal on the category B listed Boyndie Kirk to determine what future use could be made of the building. Originally a Parish Church, the building was converted into an art gallery but was badly damaged by fire in 2000 and has been unoccupied since then. Community consultation will be carried out to establish the preferred use for the building in the future. There are various options for potential community use.
Quote from Participating Organisation
Paul Higson, Project Manager, North East Scotland Preservation Trust
Like many charitable organisations the North East Scotland Preservation Trust finds itself in a difficult funding climate. The support of Aberdeenshire LEADER is all the more appreciated and will allow the Trust to
carry out an Options Appraisal on the B Listed Boyndie Kirk. This building has lain derelict for over ten years, much to the concern of the local community. The Options Appraisal process is designed to find a viable
future use for the building and secure its restoration for future generations to appreciate.
