Project Description
Buchan Countryside Group will employ an Environmental Education Officer over 3 years to deliver environmental education to individuals, groups and schools across Aberdeenshire. To create a website/on-line resource to promote conservation of wildlife and landscape in the Buchan area, and to provide advice and education about outdoor access and natural/cultural heritage activities for the benefit of the community.
Quote from Participating Organisation
Ellen Firmin, Buchan Countryside Group
“We are absolutely delighted to receive LEADER funding. We are very excited about starting on our new project which we feel will be of real use to residents and visitors to the North East. It is a real vote of confidence and without this backing, our organisation would have folded as we had insufficient backing to support a full-time Education Officer. We can now begin mapping out the format for our project in some detail before tapping into our network of contacts for their input. Many thanks indeed for supporting us in developing this valuable resource for our community.”
