Banff Castle West Pavilion Development
Managed by:
Banff Castle Community Association
Project Description
The project is to carry out a range of capital works on the West Pavilion buildings at Banff Castle, creating a folklore centre and a contemporary café. At present the site is being used below its capacity and the project aims to overcome this by employing a full-time Centre Manager to oversee activities in the centre, for example exhibitions, workshops and cultural activities. The project will create enhanced cultural opportunities for the local community and will increase the number of visitors to the area, supporting local economic growth. Local residents will benefit from increased opportunities to learn new craft skills through workshops run at the centre.

LEADER funding has validated our project by showing confidence in the association’s aspirations. The grant is fantastic and will go a long way towards the development of the Banff Castle Complex which will incorporate the Kelpie Café, Arts and Folklore Centre.
