AFCMA Marketing & Development Programme

Managed by:

Aberdeenshire Farmers & Community Markets Association

Project Description

The project is a two-year pilot to support the co-ordinated promotion of local farmers markets.  A new part-time post of Marketing Manager will be created and the post-holder will implement the project.  Main aims of the project are to increase footfall at farmers markets across Aberdeenshire, strengthen the local food industry and initiate and develop a local food culture.  A website will be created to ensure promotion of local food markets.  The need for network development is a key driver for the project.

Quote from Participating Organisation

Kenny Groat, Chairman, Aberdeenshire Farmers and Community Markets Association

This is excellent news for the Farmers Markets of the North East.  It is a great achievement to bring together all the North East farmers markets to collaborate the marketing efforts and increase the awareness of the benefits that the markets have to offer to the general public.  I hope this will strengthen the producer v customer link and allow Farmers markets to continue to grow, and this should offer the chance for more producers to get out and sell there own produce direct to the customers.
