Countryside Estate Day for Primary School Pupils 2009 & 2010

Managed by:

Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI)

Project Description

RNCI works closely with primary and secondary schools, promoting awareness of the countryside, rural industries, biodiversity, production and conservation.  RNCI has developed a set of educational tools that complement the curriculum and through a range of farm and rural visits for schoolchildren, helps to develop young people’s knowledge and understanding of food and rural issues.

The project is to organise and deliver two Countryside Estate Days for Primary School pupils in October 2009 and 2010.

Quote from Participating Organisation

Martin Birse, RNCI Chairman

“There is over-whelming demand from schools for the events that are organised by the RNCI, couple this with the many willing hosts, activity providers and volunteer stewards, the catalyst for making events like this happen is securing financial assistance.  Therefore, we are delighted that the Rural Aberdeenshire LEADER Programme funding has granted us the means by which to realise this”.
