Castle Fraser Steam & Vintage Fair 40th Anniversary
Managed by:
Bon Accord Steam Engine Club
Project Description
The project is a two-day Steam and Vintage Fair at Castle Fraser. Similar events have been held on an annual basis but 2010 is the 40th Anniversary of the Bon Accord Steam Engine Club and a much expanded programme for the popular event is being proposed. There will be a large number of steam engine exhibits, a unique 1880’s carnival ride and two restored 1920’s rides on show. The event aims to attract exhibitors from across the UK and estimates to attract 8000 visitors over the two days. The event will bring significant economic benefit to the local economy.

Jill Standing, Secretary of Bon Accord Steam Engine Club Ltd
The Club were grateful to Aberdeenshire Council and LEADER for their tremendous support for the 40th anniversary event. This allowed us to celebrate 40 years of rallying, with the largest number of steam exhibits ever seen in the north east of Scotland, including two carnival rides from a bygone era. The increase in visitor and exhibitor numbers this year should ensure the future of this event for the foreseeable future.
