Insch Institute Sports Hall
Managed by:
Insch Institute Bowling Club
Project Description
The project relates to the construction of a Community Sports Hall adjacent to the Insch Institute for the benefit of Insch and surrounding communities. The facility will target outdoor bowlers who wish to continue over the winter months with indoor bowls. The project will provide much needed new facilities which will enable a comprehensive programme of youth training. Insch Hospital will also benefit from use of the new indoor facility. The project is well supported by various community groups in the Insch area including Active Schools Initiative.
Quote from Participating Organisation
Michael Biddlecombe, Secretary, Insch Institute Bowling Club
The grant from LEADER is a major sum in support of the Insch Institute and its bowling club's vision, to construct a new sports hall which will enhance the sporting and recreational facilities for the existing and ever increasing local community. Further allowing both Indoor and Outdoor bowls clubs to operate from one venue. Friends of the adjoining Insch Hospital may also exploit this facility for sporting activities in supporting rehabilitation and recuperation. The floor space vacated by the outdoor bowling club will allow the current Library to explore the possibility of creating a small computer room.
