Explore for a Day - Aberdeen & Grampian

Managed by:

Scottish Natural Heritage

Project Description

The project is to develop, print and distribute 20,000 leaflets to provide visitors with information intended to prolong their stay in Aberdeenshire and the North East.  The leaflets will focus on sites of natural interest, highlighting a number of visitor locations and providing a short overview of what they offer.  A map will show the location of sites listed on the leaflet.  An online version of the leaflet will also be available to download.  The intention of the leaflet is to encourage visitors to spend another day in the area, leading to additional spend and supporting local economic growth.

Tourism is an important industry in Aberdeenshire. We are very keen to support this with a professional tourism publication that tells visitors and local people about natural and cultural attractions in the area.  The LEADER funds will enable us to do this in a meaningful way.  The publication will include suggested visitor itineraries, running in consecutive days. This will encourage longer stays and therefore increased spend in local attractions and communities.
