Turriff Haughs Exhibition Hall & Facilities

Managed by:

Turriff District Agricultural Association (TDAA)

Project Description

To construct a new indoor exhibition hall/display area plus a suite of permanent toilet facilities at Turriff Haughs showground.  TDAA aims to improve facilities at the Haughs to enable more events to be undertaken throughout the year.  The proposal aligns with the North East Tourism Partnership Strategy & Action Plan which recognises the importance of developing local and major events.  The Turriff Show is a key event in Homecoming 2009.  Additional indoor exhibition space will benefit trade stands attending the Turriff Show and the new facilities will also benefit other events at the Haughs eg: Pipe Band Contest, Young Farmers Rallies and other community events.

Quote from Participating Organisation

Bruce Ferguson, Turriff Show Secretary:

“The LEADER funding will enable the highly successful Turriff Show to expand with the addition of a much sought after indoor exhibition hall and associated toilet facilities in a prime area of the Showfield.  In addition, the building will be multi purpose and it is anticipated that various community groups will be able to make use of the facility throughout the year.”
