Kinmuck Area Broadband Project

Managed by:

Caleycom Limited

Project Description

The project aims to design and install a network which will ensure high speed broadband access using wireless technology for the village of Kinmuck and surrounding area.  The Kinmuck locality has poor, or in some cases no, broadband connectivity.  The distance from the telephone exchanges makes it difficult to provide the village with stable or fast broadband.  The project is considered to be the most cost effective solution for local households and rural businesses to this long term problem.

Caleycom is delighted and grateful to have been awarded assistance from Aberdeenshire LEADER for the Kinmuck Area Broadband Project. This Project represents a significant proportion of the funds required to roll out high speed Internet access to Kinmuck and a large part of the surrounding area. High speed wireless Internet access will deliver many very tangible benefits to the Community, utilising proven technologies to deliver broadband services. The Project is a major step forward for the rural area around Kinmuck and it shall help support a more sustainable future for the Community. This Project would simply not be possible without LEADER support.
